Are you thinking about buying a BMW but aren’t sure which to get? Don’t rule out these underrated vehicles.

  1. BMW 228i

Not many people consider buying the 228i, but I think it’s easily one of the best BMW models we’ve seen in the last 20 years or so. It’s a surprisingly nimble and attentive drive. It’s much more graceful and elegant than most BMW cars. This might be part of the reason why a lot of people didn’t buy the car.

But they made a big mistake by rejecting the 228i. Luckily, they can now be found at great prices. So, don’t listen to all the negative press the car gets. It’s something a little different from BMW, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s an incredible driving experience, so you should at least give it a test drive.

  1. BMW Z4

When the Z4 first hit the market, the response from drivers and critics was decisively mixed. A lot of people felt that the car missed that extra something they were hoping for. But I have no idea what it was they were expecting because the Z4 is a comfortable, classy sports car with a convertible roof.

It’s great fun to drive, and it feels incredibly classy when you’re gliding down the highway with the roof down. It’s a two-seater, so it’s not for people in search of practicality. But it is surprisingly spacious in the cabin of the car. You don’t feel like you’re squeezing yourself into the car as you do in some roadsters.

  1. BMW 3 Series Touring

The main problem with the BMW 3 Series Touring relates to design faults. The car was plagued by problems with the start/stop system, and this has put off a lot of people who might otherwise have bought the car. But if you find a used model that has had this fault fixed, the 3 Series Touring is a great car.

People tend to focus on the one negative and ignore all the great things that the car has to offer. It’s a stunning saloon that’s great to drive. No, it’s not as spacious as some of its rivals. But what it loses in space, it makes up for in its fuel economy and the practical features it offers. It deserves a lot more attention that it’s had in the past.

  1. BMW X5

The X5 is another BMW model that has suffered from a lot of faults. This is something that people often focus on, but it still has a lot to offer. If BMW managed to improve the reliability of their cars, I’m convinced they’d sell a lot more cars and win over a lot of people who wouldn’t even consider buying from them.

The other thing that stops people from buying the X5 is the cost of it when new. But that is a pretty poor argument because you can now find them very cheaply from a Used Car Supermarket if you look carefully. It’s a huge car with plenty of space, and it’s surprisingly agile on the road too, so give it a chance.

These cars are all very underrated. If you ask me, they deserve a lot more respect than they currently get.
