Upmarket luxury cars do come at high price, but they are most demanded vehicles because of their luxury and performance. The Audi A5 Cabriolet is certainly classy as anyone would allot within their expectations. According to most automotive critics, with a price tag that should easily buy a home, the A5 would indubitably not live up the expectations of its purchaser.
First hand, it is a terrible experience for such a car that is considered “luxury,” and reportedly many are unhappy with their so-called lavish convertible. Dreadful to drive, it has a body that shakes like a belly dancer and steering comparable to a remote-control car for children.
No one should put the roof down during driving unless craving the feeling of temporarily inserting his or her head into a cyclone due to unsettling wind buffeting.

Power and Performance
Starting at the top of the list, the 4.2 litre V8 engine in the RS model has mind-blowing aptitude. A turbo engine at 2.0 or 3.0 litre V6 both would be next in line, but Audi’s petrol 1.8 litre turbo-engines even havea lot of power to propel within. Plenty of options are available, such as both transmission styles and front or all-wheel drive.
Audi’s top A5 Cabriolet model has a V8 running at over 440bhp and can go from 0 – 60mph in just short of 5 seconds. At a top speed of 155mph, the RS version has an average of about 26mpg and a tank range at around 375 miles.
Albeit an excellently powerful ride, the A5’s steering is quite iffy. It will take much more effort than the average luxury car to get it going in the direction intended.
Interior & Exterior
Among power, the Audi A5 Cabriolet does have aesthetically pleasing highlights. The A5 is sleek in appearance and has a classic style in body and interior. Audi kept the tradition of a cloth top in this model and offers an acoustic variety, although with the roof down there will be a lot of noise and excessive turbulence. The looks of this ride actually do fall into the realm of what is expected of an Audi.
Seating is comfy and visibility is adequate. It is roomy enough for even real people and offers plenty of space for one to stow away, but if over six-feet tall, the passenger may want to reconsider options for transportation on longer trips.
Safety and Reliability
Though it may be a windy ride and difficult to control thanks to the dubious handling. Audi A5 has not yet crash tested by Euro NCAP. but considering other safety test data, it scores five out five rating in safety tests. The A5 incorporates eight airbags and automatic rollover bars.
eBest Cars Verdict
Audi’s cars sure are pretty and privy to lovers of the luxury vehicle. Yet with such a huge price tag, one best be head-over-heels Audi enthusiast to purchase the A5. The difficulty in handling and buffeting of wind would not live up to expectations of the buyer. However, Audi lovers will definitely love this Cabriolet and we couldn’t resist to call it a perfect convertible.
