I don’t think there has ever been a time in my life when I haven’t dreamed of owning a supercar. For me, there has always been the allure of raw power surging through my spine every time I press the throttle. Now though, companies have started offering regular folks, like you and I, the chance to hire our dream car for the day. It’s not quite a dream come true, but it’s good enough.

And what’s more, there’s a great selection of vehicles to choose from. Perhaps you are like me and just want something that goes fast. Or perhaps you want a luxury car for a special occasion. Maybe you have clients with expensive tastes. Whatever the case, here is my shortlist of five luxury cars that you can hire and drive away today.

Audi R8

When the Audi R8 first burst onto the scene in the early 2000s it garnered huge attention. I remember thinking at the time that it was a car that would not look dated in twenty years. The low-slung body, the audacious side panels. The car reeks performance from the outside. Even now it doesn’t look dated. On the inside it’s fast too, sporting a V8 engine and four-wheel drive.

Lamborghini Huracan

Here is a car that has the face of the Balrog from the Lord of the Rings and the body of that pin up you had in your room as a ten-year old. It has to be the meanest looking supercar on the market. But Lamborghini has put some real effort into this car. Not only does it have the flair of a Lamborghini, it is also reliable. This perhaps explains why companies are so keen to hire out these cars. It uses a bespoke Mercedes AMG engine so that you get the best of both worlds: German engineering combined with Italian passion.

Mclaren MP4 Spider

The follow on from Mclaren’s MP4 is the MP4 Spider; a car that is all about speeding around the race track. Mclaren doesn’t have a reputation for glamour like some of the Italian carmakers. But they do have a reputation for technical excellence. The Mclaren has a lot of computer driving aids. So even if you aren’t the most confident driver on the track, you can still get a lot out of your experience.

Bentley GT Coupe

If you’re looking to do something in style, at work or at the weekend, then consider hiring a Bentley from Prestige Keys Supercar Hire. My personal favourite is the coupe. Fast, sporty looking and, of course, luxurious. It has a max speed of 191 MPH and gets to 60 MPH in 4.5 seconds, so it’s still mind-bogglingly fast. What Bentley have done here is nothing short of amazing. They’ve made a car that’s both fast and comfortable.

Rolls Royce Phantom

Finally, the Phantom, which I think it makes a great wedding car. It’s long bonnet is a great backdrop to a wedding ribbon. It is also four-door, unlike some of the other models, so you can get in and out without ruining yours or your wife’s wedding dress. Plus under the hood is a 6.7-litre engine with over 450 BHP.
