The new BMW M4 Coupe has been revealed during a motor show at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, California. The new pictures of BMW Coupe published online with elegance and style for the successor of M3. However, it is still officially a concept car and not in production. There are no data available for performance and insights because it is still a concept car. You have to wait till 2014 for the car to be available in UK.
There will be new models of M4 including M4 Coupe, M4 Cabriolet and M4 Saloon to be launched in 2014 Detroit Motor Show. All the M4 models are expected to arrive in UK in fourth quarter of 2014. There were not technical and engineering specifications were revealed at Pebble Beach. It was kind of a design and exterior revelations for M4 Coupe. No doubt, it was stunning display of BMW engineering at best and you can assume the M badge for extra performance.
There is Carbon fibre reinforced plastic roof fitted for M4, which we saw similar to M3. The only difference you will notice that it has BMW M GmbH colours strips in red, sky blue, and navy blue. The panels look light that reduce the overall body weight of the car. The same Carbon fibre reinforced plastic is used on front splitter and rear diffuser. It will save about 80 to 100KG of weight from the earlier M3 model.
The front bonnet looks huge as compared to the previous model indicating a powerful engine inside. And you can expect all this from BMW M GmbH division. The M badge is attached to front grille and side patterns and on rear of the car, which makes the M4 look more appealing. There are 20 inch double spoke alloy wheels that give sporty look.
The car is perfectly engineered to support aerodynamics with its huge intakes that feeds air to the engine. The two Aero Curtains at the edges of the bumpers help in smooth airflow and there is air breathers installed in the M grille releases air pressure evenly. There are four exhausts near the rear diffusers and tail fog lights.
BMW haven’t disclosed any engine details, but the old 4.0 litre V8 from M3 will be replaced with V6 3.0 litre six cylinders, it will increase performance and fuel economy. There will be a range of diesel and petrol engines that will improve performance of the car.
The car expected to go for over £65,000 in UK about £10,000 £15,000 more than M3. It is too early to comment on the price and specifications of the vehicle. BMW expected to reveal full details in Detroit Motor show in January 2014.
