Peugeot is a French car manufacturer that is well known for making great cars. Our Peugeot 207 review is based on analysis of various published car reviews only. The 207 Hatchback model is basically a proof that the company still knows what is needed when looking at small cars. Peugeot 207 is available in 3 door, 5 door, SW and CC hatchback. Each trim has many features in common, but price may vary depending on the trim. The exterior stand out on the road and interior provide enough room for passengers.
The design is really attractive and there are strong diesel and petrol engines that you can choose. Driving and handling is excellent as most of the car reviewers tested the sharp steering. Talking about body control it can be said that it is satisfactory and the only real problem is that it is not actually quite as refined as the competition models like Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Focus or Renault Clio. However, this is according to the most car reviewers in actual, there is nothing less.
Most of the car reviewers are not happy with 5 speed manual gearbox, but some had good experience shifting the Peugeot 207. In addition, the boot capacity is not as high as other competitors and it will make the car lose some points for car buyers needing more boot space. We are faced with a vehicle that is quite a good value for the money that you are to pay and the safety features are satisfactory. If you want a small hatchback car then you should take a closer look at the Peugeot 207 hatchback 2011.
Peugeot 207 Prices
There is a huge list of different trims for Peugeot 207 that you can choose and the price will vary. The cheapest one is the 1.4 Access model 3 doors, which is just a little under £10,000 (£9,995). The most expensive model is 1.6 HDi 112 Allure engines, which costs £16,145.
Power and Performance
The truth is that the Peugeot 207 Hatchback comes to the road with lot of variations. You can choose between a long range of different engines. There are both diesel and petrol options that are available in 1.4 and 1.6 litres. One of the most interesting choices is given by the petrol engine as the 1.4 offers 75 or 90 bhp. It will be really easy to drive and stands out in the city and even on the motorway. If you move up to the 1.6 litre petrol engines then you get around 110 bhp. The diesel engines are the real deal, just like Peugeot offered in the past. The bottom line is that both the diesel and the petrol engines will offer more than enough performance for people that are looking for such cars. The only problem is given by the gearbox, but this was already mentioned above.
207 comes with pretty interesting handling ability and we can say that the driving is comfortable. It will not be much fun but it will be safe and composed in every second. Steering is power-assisted and quite precise. Body roll will be controlled and you will like the stability that you gain on most possible surfaces.
Interior and Exterior
There is not much that can be said about the interior. It is stylish and does bear the Peugeot trademarks. The cabin is really attractive and features a really modern design. All the controls are properly laid out and the only real problem is given by the stereo switches. They are fiddle. Seats will be really comfortable and you have suitable support when faced with a long journey. We are sure that you will love the fact that the engine is not noisy and there will only be a little noise present when at high speeds.
The back of the car is easier to access when we have the 5 doors version as compared to the 3 doors version. The boot is just average and you will only be able to carry around 2 big suitcases. This is a major letdown of the model.
Safety and Reliability
The Peugeot 207 Hatchback gained a top 5 stars rating from Euro NCAP and this is definitely good. We are in front of a pretty safe car that includes many interesting features like 2 Isofix anchor points, 5 3-point seatbelts, remote control locking, automatic locking and immobilizer.
Now referring to reliability we have to say that the stronger diesel engines will most likely bring in no problems. However, in the past there have been some problems with Peugeot products and there are some 207 recalls too.
eBest Cars Verdict
The Peugeot 207 is an all-rounder that offer so many options to match each buyer requirement. If you are looking for Eco model, then go for 1.4 litre HDi that emits 117g/km of CO2 and fuel economy of 64mpg. The VED depends on CO2 emissions each year. The emissions are higher than Seat Ibiza. Overall, it is a good car with so many options.
