Seat has managed to spice up the Ibiza Hatchback and it is now a brand new model. You can choose between Seat Ibiza SC 2 door and Ibiza ST 4 door. You can choose between a long range of Seat Ibiza models. Our review is based on analysis of various published car reviews for Seat Ibiza. It comes with a better looking interior of a high quality, a model range that has been simplified a lot and extra features that you are surely going to love. In addition, the car is a lot roomier.

We can say that Seat Ibiza Hatchback is among the best looking cars when considering the practicality and space offered by the interior and the sharp lines that are offered by the style basically guarantee an interesting drive. There is no longer an Essence, Stylance and Reference model strategy. The new Seat Ibiza Hatchback models have turned back to the really familiar Sport, SE and S grades. They are definitely less confusing for the inexperienced buyer.

One problem that appears at a first glance can be found in the fact that the environmentally conscious models that offer low emissions will only be available when faced with equipment grades of a lower specification. The one engine model that is really impressive is the 1.2 litre TSI one, which is a great combination of performance and economy.

Seat Ibiza Prices

As expected, the prices do vary a lot but not as much as with other models on the market. The cheapest one is the 12v 1.2 E model, which costs £9,925. The most expensive one is the TSI 180 1.4 Bocanegra, which will cost you £18,370.

Power and Performance

The 1.4 litre engine is definitely he most popular one in the line. It offers 85 bhp and comes with a very good pulling power. It can reach 62 miles per hour in 12.2 seconds. You also have the 3 cylinder 70 bhp 1.2 litre version, which can reach the same speed in 15 seconds. At a first glance you might be tempted to believe that this is quite slow but the engine is quite attractive and you can easily overtake slow traffic or go up a hill without any problems. The lively model is the 1.6 litre, which can reach 62 miles per hour in 10 seconds. You can opt for an automatic gearbox or a manual one.

When referring to driving the car, we have to say that it is better than in the past. The car is agile and really responsive. It is now over 4 meters long and does look really imposing. However, even if there are modifications to design, the car is still a pleasure to drive, just like the original model. We are in front of a really engaging cars and one of the best ones on the market in this class when considering body control and light steering.

Interior and Exterior

The Seat Ibiza Hatchback is perfect for 4 adults but with 5 there will be some problems. You do have enough rear space and headroom is sufficient. The only model that does not have air conditioning as standard is the 1.2 S. Electric windows step out as standard and the cabin is definitely better insulated when compared with the original model. However, the 1.2 litre engine will be heard so you might want to consider another model.

The boot present can be described as the biggest one in this class. It is quite similar to the Ford Fiesta and bigger than the Volkswagen Polo’s at 292 litres. Rear seats will fold down to gain an impressive luggage area. However, the glove box is disappointing as it is too shallow.

Safety and Reliability

We should know that the Seat Ibiza Hatchback is definitely among the safest cars of its size that are sold at the moment. It did manage to gain high star ratings in all independent crash tests for passengers and even child protection. It is also the safest for pedestrian impact, although it is still a lot lower than larger cars that can afford the addition of pop-up bonnets.

Most of the pieces used in the Ibiza Hatchback are also present in well-known cars like Polo and Fabia. This is basically a guarantee that there will not be many major problems that can appear. Reliability should be pretty high.

eBest Cars Verdict

On the whole the Seat Ibiza Hatchback is a real competitor that is going to sell really well. It does have some negative aspects but this is impossible not to have since the car is a small one. However, it does manage to offer a lot more than expected and something like this should not be neglected. Only the Ecomotive 1.4 TDI model is the greenest with 98g/km of CO2 and fuel average of 76mpg.
