The Vauxhall Cascada is a good looking modern car whether the hood is up or down. Its grand flat decking with its class gives the impression that convertible is more expensive than it actually is. It offers unique safety feature in the event of a crash, a set of poles ejects out of the deck that keep the car’s body in the air.

The fabric hood is massively powered and automatically raises and lowers itself with an impressive 30mph speed in 17 seconds. The 1.6 litre is a vibration-free engine and contributes in preventing shuddering, thereby giving the convertible a settled and comfortable ride.

Power and Performance

The engines are strong and provide good balance of performance and economy. The 1.4 litre engine with 138bhp and the 1.6 turbocharged petrol engine. You also have option of 2.0 litre engine with 163bhp and 192bhp.

The Vauxhall Cascada with its responsive engine is refined and suited for cruising. Its performance is a bit subdued as a result of its weight. However, the convertible is really accommodating with its power delivery – perfect for the kind service the Cascadas are made for.

Interior & Exterior

Vauxhall Cascada come with quality leather finishing with a highly distinct metal highlights. It provides great comfort to the driver, with both of the front seats having adjustable heights with good lateral support.

As for the switch gear and dashboard, you’ll get an array of buttons together with a rotary controller that enable easy navigation on the prominent systems. On the rear seats, the convertible is practical enough for tall passengers; these rear seats can also be folded as well to enhance space for large luggage.

The visibility is a bit impeded by the pillars of the windscreen while the rear visibility is also limited at the back. Noise is greatly reduced with an insulated roof, which is available at a premium cost if you prefer quietness while driving.

Safety and Reliability

All models of the Cascada carry with them four airbags in the case of sudden emergencies. There is also a system of protection for the passengers as well as the car in the case of a rollover. Also, there are adaptive brake lights that flash to warn oncoming drivers of a hard brake. Stability controls, alarm immobilizer with remote locking are all standard gadgets that come with the convertible. Vauxhall Cascada is not yet crash tested and there is no safety data available, but considering the safety features and practicality, it is a safest car to drive.

The Vauxhall Cascada also come with climate controls, automatic wipers and lights and leather seats with heating functionalities. Also, the rear parking sensors with cruise controls also add to functionalities that enhance the reliability of the convertible.

eBest Cars Verdict

The Vauxhall Cascada is not an expensive convertible, even with the standard of its equipment when compared to its closest competitors. When buying however, it will be worth considering the manual diesel engine among the range of engines available to choose from. Considering it is cheaper and also more economical than the 1.6 automatic engines.
