Citroen DS3 Cabriolet may not be the perfect one, but it certainly has advantage over many competitors with its looks, interior, and comfortable ride.

Looking for a stylish, decent to drive and classy convertible with a strong interior quality as well as a powerful turbocharged engine? Then the Citroen DS3 Cabriolet is a perfect fit for you. The Citroen DS3 is a small and very affordable convertible that ticks the right buttons as long as convertibles in its class are concerned.

With its large wind deflector, great performance and its high and improved quality and refinement, you are sure not to be disappointed with the Citroen DS3. Add to the impressive space and practicality that largely overshadows that of its close rivals.

Citroen DS3 Cabriolet Price

Model Price
Cabriolet 1.2 VTi 82 DSign £15,205
Cabriolet 1.6 VTi 120 DStyle £17,590
Cabriolet 1.6 THP 155 DSport £19,840

Power and Performance

The Citroen DS3 engine range is made up of three petrol engines, the 3-cylinder 1.2 engine with 80bhp, the 4-cylinder 1.6 engine with 118bhp, as well as the turbocharged 1.6 engine with 154bhp. This turbocharged 154bhp is really powerful, flexible and strong.

The 1.6 engine with 118bhp is also very good except that it is not turbocharged. This means that it has to work harder to keep you going at a respectable rate.

Interior & Exterior

One of the areas where the Citroen DS3 is highly rated is in its interior. The interior materials feel solid and exude class in every way. The Citroen DS3 interior is always looking fresh and sharp; with a driving position that can be adjusted in infinite number of ways to enable greater comfort while driving.

Although rear visibility is poor especially when the roof is on, the Citroen DS3 make up with rear parking sensors. Also, the dashboard isn’t too complex like that of its close rivals, but the stereo is a bit tricky to use.

As long as the looks are concerned, there is nothing too bad with the Citroen DS3. It is small and smart with bold detailing and elegant lines.

Even without a roof that normally affects a car’s firmness; the Citroen DS3 with its solid pillars for the roof provides a good level of car rigidity and firmness. Though a bit shaky on bumpy roads – which would be expected, it still handles pretty well.

Safety and Reliability

To keep you out of trouble, all of Citroen DS3 models come with electronic stability controls. The six airbags are available for extreme unavoidable driving situations.

The DS3 has a remarkable 5-star rating for Euro NCAP test for crash, and since the Citroen DS3 was not overly compromised in its structure, you will expect the convertible to also measure up for any safety test.

The solid build of the Citroen DS should give a level of confidence when using the convertible. It is expected that the mid table placement of the manufacturers in terms of reliability should also reflect in the super car.

eBest Cars Verdict

The Citroen DS definitely has its flaws just as its rivals, but it is a pleasant car with its stylish build and compact ride. As long as you love or want a small, smart yet affordable convertible, then it is worth considering.

Citroen DS3 Cabriolet may not be the perfect one, but it certainly has advantage over many competitors with its looks, interior, and comfortable ride.
