Driving while under the influence of drink or drugs is a year round problem on Britain’s roads. However, the spotlight is firmly on this issue around this time of year. With Christmas parties and New Year celebrations there is an extra focus on motorists who are driving while under the influence. For many, they won’t even realise that they are over the limit. A heavy night the evening before can affect your suitability to drive for a large part of the next day.
According to their data MoneySupermarket have found that 147,000 out of 14 million quotes were for drivers who had been caught driving while drunk, or under the influence of drugs. They have looked at some of the worst offending areas in the UK and found that Harrogate topped the charts, whilst the London areas appeared to have the best records.
