The new pictures of Mini five door hatchback revealed as it goes to production prior to launch in autumn. It is the first ever five door hatchback version of the famous MINI. Production started in BMW owned plant in Oxford UK and will be available later this year.
It is expected to be available in few months in autumn this year. The price is expected to be £1,000 more than the old MINI. It is based on the same structure of the MINI.
It uses a new stretched version of the car that will provide base for the future MINI cars. The five door MINI provides more leg room 72mm longer thanks to the longer wheelbase. And it gains additional 15mm headroom.
It is now perfect for small families and can enjoy their favourite car with five doors. The boot space is also bigger with 278 litres that can hold extra luggage.
There is no change in the engine, but extra 29bhp – making it to 170bhp 2.0 turbocharged diesel engine. It is part of the £750 million investment programme by the BMW Group that will help in expanding the MINI market across UK.
The new MINI five door is also expected to be available later in Clubman and Convertible variants.
