If there are convertibles that will boast of a swift retractable top, smooth ride, luxurious and cozy interior as well as a very practical and quiet cabin, the Volvo C70 will not be left behind. If you are really looking for a convertible that does not sacrifice comfort, practicality and safety for style, you are going to admire the C70.
The usual convertibles cannot match the practicality of the C70, with the ability to go from topless roof to the closed comfort of a cozy interior at the control of a button. Its acceleration and handling is really cool. Although, it may not be as stylish as its German competitors; it brings a high level of balance in its style, and so is worth taking a look at.

Power and Performance
The Volvo C70 has a 2.5-litre petrol engine with a rated 236 pound-feet of torque and 227 horsepower. 5-speed automatic as well as the manual control are standards; the car also comes with a front-wheel drive. When racing, it can accelerate to speeds of 60 mph under 7.8 seconds. Though a bit slower when compared to other cars in its class, it makes up for this in other areas.
To spend smart, you can invest in one of the diesels engine models of the car. The 148bhp D3 is great because it presents all the performance anyone could need while also keeping the price low. The other version, the 174bhp D4 is also economical and efficient in using fuel; however, it is quicker but more expensive than its other engine sibling.
Interior & Exterior
The passenger cabin earns praise for its sleek and stylish design, consistent with Volvo’s trademark model. Quality leather upholstery together with wood trim and standard aluminum are all present. The seats in front are cozy, while the surround-sound system of 14 speakers is one of the best you can find in a convertible.
The rear visibility from the interior is great when driving. The C70 can also keep two people comfortable at the back seats; the boot is also bigger than that of its rival convertibles.
There is climate control, electric windows, cruise controls and rain sensing wipers. There are xenon headlamps and satellite navigation is present, with heated seats and keyless entry – especially found in the Solstice version. Again, not forgetting its special and imposing sound system.
Safety and Reliability
With a cabin that is built with quality and appealing materials, the C70 was really built to last. Typical of Volvo cars, you can be sure that the C70 will be a representation of safety and reliability. The convertible has 6 airbags, pop-up rollover bars and stability controls. There are also deadlock present in all models.
