Power & Performance

Most of the reviewers find the Volvo XC90 fairly quick, and it offers much better performance with chassis improvements in the new model. However, test drivers say that the driving experience is quite boring. The V8 option offers the extreme powerful performance in fair price.

The base model comes with 3.2 litre six-cylinder engine, which produces 235 horsepower. The V8 model comes with 4.4 litre, which produces 311 horsepower. Both the models come with six speeds automatic transmission. The base model does not offer much power, but the V8 model is worth trying.

The Volvo XC90 would be in our favourite SUVs list if the fuel economy is good. Unfortunately, the fuel economy is worst in its class. The AWD model has 15 mpg in city and 21 mpg on highway and the V8 AWD model achieve 13 mpg city and 19 mpg on highway. Volvo XC90 is a large SUV, but the steering and handling capabilities are impressive. If you are looking for more fun driving, then XC90 is not for you.
